Now unto him…..who has ever had car issues?
See, my car’s security and monitoring work, but in all honesty as good as it is, it has its limitations. It can protect my car from external forces such as theft but when my car has an internal problem it is powerless. Cars, as created by their creators are built to not only recognize an internal problem but to alert the driver that something is wrong. This is why we have things like checking engine lights. We may not know exactly what’s wrong with the engine when the check engine light comes on but we know something is wrong and we need to check it out. To be honest, I may be inclined to keep driving if the gas light comes on to get close to a gas station but if my check engine light comes on, I’m parking (if it’s safe of course) and calling my uncle who is a mechanic to see how we can have it fixed.
Now unto him…..who has personal issues
We’ve all had personal issues, friendship issues, work issues, and family issues. Things that we either deal with or blow off that don’t require a lot to “fix”. But sometimes when these issues are left unchecked, they can lead to bigger issues. This is why it is important to surveil these areas of our life.
Just like the car we are designed by our creator to recognize our problems. Inherently we know which problem requires what level of intervention because some problems require services that anyone can provide, but some problems require expert intervention. We have internal “lights” that go off when something is wrong. We usually ignore them (or at least I do) until we break down on the sidewalks of life trying just to get through.
Now unto him…..who services
There is a thing that you have to do when you have a car called servicing. In essence what you have to do is, if you’ve been driving your car for a period you have to take it to a professional to ensure that everything that makes it function daily is operating optimally. Yes, I said that right, nothing is inherently wrong, you just pay to check that everything is operating optimally. Regular servicing can help to identify an impending internal problem and lessens the chance of it happening but it can guarantee that it won’t still happen.
For me, for servicing my car, I trust my uncle, who is a mechanic. He’s awesome, we drive to work he takes the car, services it, and even brings it back washed. I trust him because he’s been doing this for a long time and he’s worked on many different cars. But if I’m honest if there were an internal problem with my car id feel more comfortable taking my car to Toyota Jamaica. Because they specialize in all things Toyota, they are familiar with the details of the make and operations of Toyotas.
Emotion check, a personality check, a friendship check. We may not think we subscribe to the idea of service but we do. We are willing to invest to ensure that certain things in our life are operating optimally. But even though we have amazing friends, we may have control over our emotions (to a certain extent) when an “internal problem” arises, the servicing limitation becomes blatantly apparent.
Now unto him…..who fixes
It may not seem like we have a lot in common with a car, but we do. To preserve ourselves we have set up systems. But they have limitations. We may also regularly submit ourselves to “servicings”, which is great but limited. Because there are internal problems that arise in a car just because it is being driven, likewise there are internal problems that arise in us because we are living.
The thing about fixing internal problems is that it requires an expert and experts are expensive. Unconsciously or consciously we know this, which is partially why we spend so much on systems and services to prevent us from getting there. But when we do, sometimes the cost of getting expert help is so much that it seems less expensive to continue going on with our problems than to invest in an expert’s help. But some things need to be fixed. Once we are alerted that there is an issue, as much as it may cost now it is less than what it will cost if we allow the problem to persist. The good news for us is that it’s quite the opposite. Jesus already paid the price; therefore, our expert’s help is free of cost and readily available. It only requires us to ask for his help.
One thing that happens after you have gotten your car issues fixed, usually the mechanic will take a ride with you in the car so you can see for yourself that your car is fixed. Then will exit the car and leave us to ride home. The same is true for us, Jesus after He is asked to help, will not only help with our internal issues but will ride with us for us to see that we can live free, but he won’t ever leave us, he is riding with us always.
In the same manner, we know exactly where to go when our car has problems that no ordinary person can fix, if you didn’t know where to go when internal problems arise, I’m here to advise you that Jesus is the expert, the only expert that can help. Not only because he’s the creator and intricately knows us but because he is our savior and intimately loves us.
Now unto him…..who is able
Jesus, that’s His name. Jesus is He, He who is able, to do, help, to fix, to heal, to save. As I satisfied customer, I can guarantee that you won’t be disappointed by His service.
Now unto him, who can
do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end.
